ARLINGTON, Va. — The Navy has established two tactical communications commands for its special warfare groups.
According to a March 8 internal directive, the Navy has established Tactical Communications Command One at Naval Base Coronado, California, and Tactical Communications Command Two at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Virginia.
The new commands “will provide naval special operations forces a focal point for all command, control, communications, computer and intelligence tasking, and address the growing complexities in the information battle spaces of today and into the future,” the directive said. “Manpower to establish the two commands comes from existing [Navy Special Warfare Command] components at each site.”The mission of the two commands will be to “organize, man, train, equip, and deploy personnel and communications equipment to operate and maintain communications for Naval Special Warfare Task Groups and Naval Special Warfare Task Units,” the directive said.
